British Council - Music From Home Project - Bangladesh

Ruth, our director, was originally intending to travel to Bangladesh in 2021 as part of the Transforming Narratives programme to lead training sessions and music workshops in SEND schools, culminating in a staged performance as part of Dhaka’s annual Walk for Autism.

Working in partnership with disability charity CHILD Foundation, we have now transferred the project online. In April, we hosted a singing competition on Facebook for SEND children in Bangladesh judged by Ruth Hopkins, Bappa Mazumder and Baul Shafi Mondol. The winners will have the opportunity to record a music video with K’antu Ensemble and folk musicians in Dhaka later this summer.
